CHRIS SCHEXNAYDER, SENIOR MANAGING DIRECTOR

Chris began his career in accessibility consulting as a student at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) where he was studying commercial interior design. In a professional practice class he opted to be the "accessibility consultant" on a project which led him to Peter Grojean of Accessibility Unlimited for advice. Peter, an early member of the Texas Governor's Committee on Persons with Disabilities would later become Chris's employer and mentor. Prior to attending UTSA, Chris had worked as a draftsman for a variety of design firms which helped familiarize him with the construction industry.

Chris left Accessibility Unlimited to go to work for the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) as an Accessibility Specialist. He left TDLR in 1997 to become an independent accessibility consultant and is currently licensed by TDLR as a Registered Accessibility Specialist. Chris has attended numerous continuing education seminars during his tenure as an accessibility consultant and strives to stay one step ahead of the ever changing regulatory environment surrounding accessibility compliance. Chris is a Charter Member of the Texas Registered Accessibility Specialist Association (TRASA) and remains active in the organization today. He has presented many accessibility training classes and is respected by his peers as one of the most knowledgeable and experienced consultants in his field. Chris headed his own firm, Accessibility Design Associates from 1997-2010 and now holds the position of Senior Managing Director for theACCESSpartnership-lp.
